Mission
statement of Stroke Association of Queensland:
To improve
the quality of life of stroke survivors, their carers and families
through communications, information, education and emotional
support.
From Monday
to Thursday excluding
public holidays, a peer support line is available on 07
32773838.
If you are ringing STD advise
us and we will ring you back. This line is manned by people
who have survived stroke and been largely rehabilitated, or
are Carers so they are sympathetic and understand where you
are coming from. In most cases they will be able to answer
your questions and lend emotional support. You need not feel
alone or unable to cope. Whether you are a stroke survivor
or carer or family members ring for a talk or a free Stroke
Information Kit. This service is free. Research and Training
for the Peer Support Service has been made possible by a grant
from Jupiter’s Casino Community Benefit Fund.
Stroke
Association of Queensland is a non-profit organization which
is primarily funded by Queensland Health and donation from the
community. The office is run by mostly volunteers. We desperately
need your
support. You can make a donation by clicking on the picture below.
